Hi everyone,
I currently have an xperia z c6603 phone and i'm currently located in Trinidad and Tobago.
I am only able to connect to the 3G (or EDGE network) and not 4G (I do have a 4G plan), I have contacted my service provider who was unable to solve this problem.
Please advise as to what I should do.
Thank you very much.

Be aware that 4G means different things, depending on your market.
While your C6603 does support 4G LTE 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600.
A quick search reveals LTE is not available in Trinidad and Tobago
By checking Settings/More.../Mobile networks/Network Mode/ and selecting LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM in your C6603.
Your Z will confirm this.
Looking around TT's mobile carrier websites, I see no mention of LTE.
Nor LTE CAT3 speeds of 50 Mbps Upload/100 Mbps Download that your C6603 supports.
Just HSPA+ (which your C6603 supports up to 5.8 Mbps Upload/42 Mbps Download) marketed as 4G. .
IMHO that's why your C6603 accurately displays you connected in 3G/H+..

it depends if 4G band on your xperia z supports 4G/LTE band in your country since if your carrier uses another band then 4G/LTE will not work and you will only get 3G as higest, as second alternative to a reason why your not getting is that it depends on which tower has got 4G by your carrier.

Thank you for your assistance, JakeSully and themanspirit.
Sometime technicians aren't helpful at all, I consulted several Bmobile technicians (Bmobile is the service provider I am on) who weren't able to shed any light on the situation.
Basically I've since learned that 4G LTE is planned for, at some point in the future by Trinidad's mobile carriers, don't know when, but I gather sooner rather than later.
So I'm glad that I have a phone for the future, 🙂 and disappointed at the same time that I can't access faster speeds.
The main problem which I think caused it, was the fact that I bought this Xperia Z from the Amazon uk website who at the time only had the version of the phone that is 4G LTE compatible, I still believe that they don't have any other version.
The Xperia Z is my 8th Sony phone in the last 13 years and is by far the best Sony phone I have ever used.
Especially for me, since it doubles as an awesome camera (my Sony Camera was stolen last year).
Looking through the various issues other users have had with their Xperia Z on this forum, I am very grateful my phone has never given me any problems in the four months since I have had it.
