How to stop screen sleeping while charging (e.g. in craddle)?

How to stop screen sleeping while charging (e.g. in craddle via magnetic charger thingy)? On my old Samsung Galaxy there was a Settings, Developer option menu for all that stuff. Can't find a setting like that on Z Ultra so far... help! Thanks, Simon

I solved my own problem using the crazy mechanism to enable the Settings, Developer Options menu listed here:

You can also use this

Settings > display > day dream.

S1m0n, followed this advice, and it works!  Although the advice relates to the Samsung Galaxy, it also works for my Xperia Z1 Compact, running Android 4.3!  Many thanks for this.  I shall now be able to use the phone in the car cradle, plugged into the USB charger, and the screen won't go black!  Result.

Nabeel, this is true, but all it does is activate the screen saver, which is probably not what is required.  Most people will want a specific app to remain on the screen, in which case the advice immediately above is the correct one.
