Hi. Please help.
I got my z1 compact 2 days ago having upgraded from a samsung s3.
The problem is that intermittently my z1 will answer the phone in loud speaker, I am running everything in stock with no launchers or 3rd party phone apps.
Please help, this is really annoying
Phil

Have you tried the already known possible solution with uninstalling updates for google chrome?
yeap..Got the same problem on my Z1 too! and its not google's fault or the android OS or chrome because it only happens with the first call of the day after that it is fine. It is probably a bug with the Sony customization of the 4.3 update to the firmware. Seems like many people have the problem and no reply from the Sony help on this thread...bad sony...bad....*sprays water on sony's face*

Nope, had it on my previous xperia p also - with android 4.1.2
IT IS chrome that causes this problem. My friend with HTC one experience same issue.
A workarround for you, if you really like chrome and cant wait for an update.
Download latest official beta version:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.beta
I can confirm it is solved in beta version. None of my friends using it have seen it for almost 24 hours of usage.
Google normally keep a beta version for several weeks until they release it officially. So I assume in some weeks time, they will officially launch a new chrome version, and issue will disappear..
Good luck!
I have to say the workaround with Chrome did not work for me
Uninstalled all updates to Chrome and disabled the app entirely, but when I downloaded Chrome beta, the problem occurred again in couple of calls.
The issue is really random for me. Cannot say it is for first call of the day or so. Sometimes the loudspeaker stays disabled for a few incoming calls in row and then it's back on again.
Oh well, it is annoying, but I'm getting used to answer the call, check if it's on and turn it off before putting the phone to ear. I wonder how long it will take me to break this habit after the issue is solved and until my paranoia that everyone will hear my calls disappears 😕
You should not have installed any beta chrome, use another browser.
I was reffering to the solution proposed in post above my first message.

It's almost like if you'd say I should not buy an android phone, I should by a phone running different OS. Not helpfull at all.
As I said, it's just something I could get used to, but a speedy fix would be nice indeed.
Well, pay a little more attention. We suggested uninstalling updates or disabling chrome. This issue will be fixed in the next chrome update,as sony members say.
On my Z1 compact, the enhancement was disabled, had the same problem. Enabling the enhancement, solved the problem. May be just changing the state of the feature resolves the problem as we do the opposite thing
