I don't know why I keep buying Sony's. In factory condition, my PC is painfully slow. It's all the junk 3rd party software that's on there. But if it's un-installed, drives cleaned up, defrag etc, the Window System Report still gives poor or very poor for HDD, memory, graphics performance etc.
I've tried a clean XP disc and specific drivers or cancelling the factory install (before it installs the junk) but I'm left with an unstable PC with half the software missing (QL Suite for Biometrics, integrated camera etc) although it works fast and gives no errors in the system report.
Sony won't let me speak to a manager, tell me they can't help regarding the garbage that gets installed. They offered to waste my time and theirs by sending it back to check the hardware (I only just got it back from a failed hard drive).
Come on Sony. Offer a decent install option. I'm nearly at the point of returning this £1700 piece of junk.
