Screen goes black when battery almost run down - how can I bring it back up?

The screen of my VGN-SZ5XWN goes black when the battery has almost run down but the notebook hasn't gone to sleep. When I plug it back into the mains how can I bring the screen back up? The only way I have found so far is to close the lid so it goes to sleep, and then wake it up again.

have you tried pressing the Fn and F6 keys.?

No I haven't. I've tried Esc and Ctrl Alt Del and Fn F7 but didn't think of Fn F6. I'll let it run down now and try it and report back!

No, I was really hopeful but Fn + F6 didn't work I'm afraid. Thank you for the suggestion. Any other thoughts?

have you installed the updated Video drivers.? You can check in device manager if you're unsure..

Use either Vaio update or the following link to download the: SZ5XWN video drivers
