Do you have alot of applications that run on startup?
Also have you cleared your temp files / browsing cache etc recently?
Sometimes too many programs loading on startup slows the system down as can having alot of
temp / junk files.
There are apps like ccleaner which are very useful for clearing these files but be very careful with the settings.
Have you scanned the system for spyware / viruses too?
