Myy Sony Vaio AR Time / Date Settings Will Not Update ...

Whenever I turn my machine on the time and date settings return to 1st of Jan 2005 - no matter what I do this happens - anyone have any ideas?

How old is your Vaio? It sounds like the CMOS motherboard backup battery has failed or is not charging. If this is the case a repair will be required - this will be under warranty if your Vaio is still covered by the guarantee or by a local repairer if you are out of warranty.

Does it correct itself after you go online?

Have you set the time to automatically update when you go online? Try changing to another Time Server.
