Extended battery (VGP-BPL8) on FZ Series notebook

Hi

I'm about to take the plunge and purchase the VGN-FZ31S which comes with the standard 4800mAh battery VGP-BPS8A. However i believe there is a larger capacity version of the battery (7800mAh) available for this notebook, BPL8. But looking at the photos of the BPL8, it seems to have an extension, does this alter the shape of the notebook? Click here to see the differences. I would appreciate if someone could post pics of their FZxx with the BPL8 showing. Also how much heavier is the BPL8 than the BPS8A?

The battery shown on amazon is just seen from upside down, that means the extension can taper the notebook position and raise the back of it a little bit from the table - or lap -, thus helping more fresh air to come in, which is not a bad thing. It's not over priced and the weight is still ok (I've not seen much differences from the original one if it was for the shape). You get at least 30 minutes over the original, depending on the power plan. I do not regret my choice at all though.

Normally i would be happy with the original battery, but Tigerdirect are selling the extended one for ONLY $19.99 (YES ONLY $19.99), click here Even with shipping costs to UK, its still hell of a cheap deal
