Write/upload/download to sd card errors using third party apps

Hello,

I'm experiencing problems as above in the subject. Have anyone also encountered such problems?

Some of the problems:

#1 All That Recorder app - cannot record to sdcard1 storage; can write it to phone storage though

#2 Wifi File Transfer app (from google play) - can do some of the operations like write/delete/download/upload on location storage/emulated/0 (it's a phone's storage I guess); cannot upload/delete even txt files on storage/sdcard1 via wifi connection

#3 Torrent apps/dowload accelerators - cannot download to sdcard1

I was using 2 microsd cards (Hama 32gb with 45 mb/s speed and Toshiba 16gb) on M4 Aqua. However, everyting was allright when I was using those 2 cards on my old Xperia SP, not even a single error.

On hama 32gb card I moved few apps.  When I'm unmounting the card from the settings section, the card unmounts for the unlimited period of time so I have to remove it manually. So this is another problem that I have encountered...

Device specs:

Xperia M4 Aqua

E2303

26.1.A.2.99

There's nothing wrong with your phone, it's an Android restriction.

Hello,

I'm writing in connection with my previous post: /t5/Xperia-8482-M4-Aqua/Write-upload-download-to-sd-card-errors-using-third-party-apps/m-p/1036463

So, is there any way to bypass Android restriction legally (without losing warranty) to write/download to SD card with third party apps?

Will be this function available in further uprades of M4 firmware or the Anroid system itself?

It is already possible for 3:rd party apps to write to the external SD card but app developers needs to add support for this feature in Android 5.

If you have an app that can't write to the external SD card i recommend that you first contact the developer of the app to see if they are working on an update that supports this.

To remove the safety features for the SD card in Android you would need to root the phone and modify system files. Any modification of the phones software may void the warranty and it's not something i would recommend that you try.
