Hi,
I buy a lot of books from Kobo, with no problems at all normally. However, I bought one yesterday, and clicked to dowload as usual. All went well, until I had a message from Reader for PC saying 'Cannot download book as already exists in your library'. But, the purchased book is definitely NOT in my library. I've tried multiple times, reopened REader, rebooted, etc, but no joy.
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Thanks!
I 'd try contacting Kobo - sounds like a delivery software glitch
Only other thing I can think of is an Adobe authorising problem, but that doesn't seem like this, if you've never had problems buying and d/loading before.
Hi, Is it just a coincidence, but the same happened to me, on 27th, and again on 28th. First with Kobo. It says it is all done, and in my Library, but it is not. I contacted Kobo, and they were very quick with an answer, which was to download it again. It will not, as it says Already In Your Library. I then tried a cheap book from Waterstones. Exactly the same. They have downloaded, as they are in my download file, but will not open in the Library. I then tried numerous books from free sources. All worked. Yesterday evening, I thought I would try another cheap book. It worked as normal. It looks like I have lost the money for the two books, but do I keep buying, if there is a Sony Softwear Problem.
i have had similar problem but with google books. in that case it was an adobe drm problem. see
http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=191479
i also tried importing books using sony software and got the same problem. even after deleteing all books in my catalog and reinstalling reader software it still said book was in my library. in the end i have been using Adobe digital editions which work fine( i am using calibre for my library management anyway) sony software is just to bad.
I have the same problem with one of the books bought at bol.com. It is defintively not in my library. And the most weird is that one other book is present twice on my Sony PRS-T2 e-reader.

Hmm I just had a look & can not locate the free books either, let me see if I can get an answer from our contacts in Sony, if I receive a reply I'll update this thread..
This has now happened to me. I'm trying to download an EPUB library book - which I've successfully done before - and now the reader PC is stuck in the "can't download, it's already in the library".
I already had this book in the reader and on my E-Book, booked out to me, but its loan period had expired. Opening the reader, the book was displayed with the word EXPIRED in the Expiration Date column. I deleted the book, then downloaded the (same) book from the library, which has resulted in the previously mentioned error.
Anyone know
i) how to edit the reader database
OR
ii) if I uninstall the Reader for PC and reinstall it, will that fix the problem?
Never had any problems like this with the old reader!
Thanks
PuppyDog.
I had the same problem. Kobo support were very quick to respond by email, but we went round in circles for a couple of nights and ended up exactly where I'd started - and still no books.
In the end I dragged and dropped them onto the reader from the folder on the PC. Not the way to do it but it worked.
I'm getting Kindle. Had enough of all the stress.
How did you drag and drop it to the Reader? I have this problem. The file is there in my downloads as an ascm file. It will open in Adobe Digital Editions but Reader software says it's in my library but isn't there. I had exactly the same problem with another book but suddenly it appeared! Don't know why! Is anyone getting any joy from Sony? They don't seem to reply to queries?
Hello
The books are in my "Documents Library", in a subfolder called My Digital Editions. Not sure how they got there, but all my downloaded books are saved there as EPub files. When the ereader was plugged I could just drag and drop files into it.
Much simpler than doing battle with the Kobo sync ...
