Z1 - Wake up display?

Hi there,

So far i am pretty pleased with my Z1. However there is an issue that really annoys me.

I am used to my previous Android phones having the ability to wake up the display when receiving email, sms etc, without the use of a third-party application. It is incredibly frustrating having to push the power/wake-up button everytime i receive an email or sms, if i want to check the content.

Is this something that could be "fixed" with a firmware, or are there any viable workarounds?

This is not something that will be "fixed" in upcoming software since it's not a flaw in our phone. The messaging/email application is simply not designed to wake up the display when you get a new message. If you want the display to wake up when you get an incoming message I suggest that you check for 3rd party application with that feature.

I agree..it's not a flaw. But rather a missing feature. I'll have to look for 3rd party software then, but i was hoping that wouldn't be necessary.

Make sure you tick the apps you want to wake the screen up in the settings. (no app is selected by default)
