Could somebody from Sony please explain why thousands of us are now 3 updates behind now regarding firmware updates?
We are still on 434!
How do we get Sonys attention on this?

There's not much that can go wrong. In the worst case, you could just flash again and wipe all your data. This is the same as 'factory data reset' in Sony PC Companion / Sony Update Service.
So if you want to be really safe, create a backup of all your data first and make sure that your phone is fully charged.

So i am in the class of Unbranded phones who all seem to be waiting for the update or as your describing having to flash it.
Considering the comments i think i will wait and besides i am ot that confident in using the alternative methods - not cause i dont trust them but i am not experienced enough to do.
I am sure it will all come through eventually or by then i will have gone back to Nokia - fancy the 1020.

That is the thing, i do not want to wipe all my data/factory reset etc. i would much prefer to update and not lose anything, backing up and restoring stuff is hard work!

There's a tutorial about how to manually update using Flashtool, with screenshots and all: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
If you just follow those steps, you can't do anything wrong.

Normally you don't have to wipe anything, at least not when flashing the same or a higher version. Only if you downgrade, you need to wipe data. If you update using the official way (through Sony PC Companion or Sony Update Service), it also flashes everything without wiping data. Exactly the same can be done using Flashtool (see tutorial). I've changed to different firmware customizations many times already and I never had any problems or lost any data.

Then you would also have those problems if you update the official way, without wiping data. Sony Update Service always asks if you want to wipe data or not when updating.
As I already said:
If you really want to update through Sony PC Companion, you can do this:
1. Root your phone temporary
2. Change your customization number to 1270-6697 (Generic ES) for example
3. You will receive the update through Sony PC Companion and the root will be erased again.
See part A of this guide: [GUIDE] Download ANY firmware customization from Sony & create an FTF with Flashtool
I don't know why you are so scared. There are some very good tutorials available. In fact, you only have these options:
1. Manually update using Flashtool.
2. Change customization number and update with Sony PC Companion / Sony Update Service.
3. Wait until the update gets released for Generic UK firmware.
I think you'll understand by now that complaining on these forums doesn't help at all to speed up the process.

nope, everytime i have updated through pcc i never wipe data and never had any problems.
its come to the fact that we are now trying to raise awareness to protential sony customers to stay away, why should more people get ripped off like we have? its only right that we help others from this fiasco
