speed dialing - how do you set it up?

Hi,

How do you set up the speed dial buttons for frequently used numbers?

The Answerphone is set, can't seem to find a way to set the other buttons!

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks...

Hi Archiver,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

You can also add contacts to the homescreen for faster calling to specific contacts.

1. Tap and hold finger on Homescreen

2. Tap Apps

3. Tap Shortcuts

4. Tap Direct Dial

5. Choose contact

Once chosen the contact will be added to the Homescreen and can simply be pressed to make a call.

i hope this helps.

Thanks Jake...

I really wanted the old fashioned press and hold the dial pad number like my Nokia and Samsungs...I'm sure I will get used to this new way!

Thanks again...

I don't see a Direct Dial option. Is this only available using Simple Home option?

you can set up 8 speed dial buttons.
open the phone directory.
open the dial pad.
press and hold a number (only 2-8) for example number 2
this should open the speed dialmenu
confirm which contact you want to assign.
next time you keep pressing number 2 in the dial pad, it will call the contact you assigned.

Just tried pressing numbers 2-8 for 10 seconds to try to assign a speed dial number and nothing happened. No speed dial menu opened. Does my dialer app have a bug?

Came form an LG phone to Marshmellow and found the phone app to cumbersome. I had to do extra keystrokes. So I bought "True Phone", which was like the old LG app with speed dial.

Also, this app goes directly to the dialing pad and skips the call list. Since I seldom call same person twice within a short period, this behavior is extremely counter productive. True Phone is much better. It shows the call list and the dial pad on the same screen.
