question about video unlimited downloaded movie

Hi everyone,

my friend gave me some of his movie he downloaded from video unlimited.  He placed it on a usb, from usb i copied it to my memory card by putting the micro sd card on my laptop.  After that I opened my xperia z1 and tried playing the movies but got an error playing it.

is it possible to transfer .mnv files from one device to another?  Do I need to have a special application to transfer the movie?

any input/information will be greatly appreciated.

What error did you get?You might need VLC or MX Player to run it.

I'm not playing the movie in my PC.  I transferred the movies to my phone by copying it on my phone's  micro sd.

I'm playing the movie on the "movie" app and its giving me an error "Cannot play video".

I was talking about your phone,use VLC or MX player.

Please first use MX player .İ have other players but  never used them .i think MX player can play most of the movies.

Just to clarify for you, if he downloaded the movies from Video Unlimited, they are DRM protected and will not play if transferred to another device as this would be a breach of copyright.

Thanks everybody.  That's what I was hinting why it was not playing.  I guess you confirmed what I was thinking was correct.  That after download from video unlimited and transfer to a different device  will breach copyright.

I'm having an issue with xperia privilege - 5 free movies from video unlimited. When I click on  the promo (1st screenshot) which states promo period until March 15, 2014 then I try to redeem the movies I got the below message (2nd screenshot).

I have called xperia support which transferred me to playstations network support which transfer me to xperia support again then transferred to some support I can't remember then transffered to another playstation network support even after I told them that I have been transferred and did not get any answer on how to get the movies.

Can you give me the correct number to call or who to call?

here are the numbers that I already called/transffered and none of them was able to help me they just passed me to another number.

I know its free movie but this is frustrating how nobody have ownership regarding this promotion.
