Problem with native calendar - no calendars show for sync - Xperia Z

I recently got an Xperia Z which works fine and everything sync nicely.

But after having installed and uninstalled Googles calendar app, no calendars (and no events) show up in the native calendar.

Everything else works fine, and my Google account syncs with other apps - even the calendar seems to sync, but nothing is shown in the app. It also affects other calendar apps I have tried after I discovered the lack of calendar sync.

So it appears it's only the calendar that is affected.

Any suggestions? I've tried all the basic things, including turning phone off and on, turning sync off/on, syncing account etc.

Problem solved: It wasn't the calendar or sync that was wrong, something had obviously happened to "calendar storage" that probably controls accounts etc for any calendar app on this phone.

I removed all data from calendar storage, then deactivated and reactivated it. All calendars now appear for sync in the native calendar app.
