No Calendar notification sound when screen locked

Good Day

When the screen is locked there is no notification sound when an event reminder is due.  As soon as I press the power button to activate the screen the notification sound is played.  This is very unsatisfactory as an appointment can be easily missed.

Under the same circumstances when an SMS is received the notification sound is played.

Calendar settings have notifications checked and under system sound the notification sound is set.

Is there perhaps another setting that I have missed?

Check if you have Stamina Mode turned on, if so calendar app needs to be added to your white list of apps

Thanks Jonah.  Stamina was set.

2 further questions - are there any other app one would normally have on the white list & can I have a unique notification sound for Calendar reminders or is it just the general notification sound?

Put apps on the white list that you don't want to "sleep" whilst the screen is off eg if you are waiting for an email put your email app on the white list otherwise you won't get the notification.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you should have my Xperia on your white list (just in case you need to find your phone) as Stamina Mode shuts off data etc and my Xperia needs a data connection to work. (Maybe someone else can confirm if this is right)
Obviously the more apps you put on the white list the less effect Stamina Mode will have on battery life.
I think you can change the calendar notification sound under settings within the app.

Hullo petewill88,

I have found that I can put sounds (e.g. *mp3) into the phones "Notifications" menu using a computer and moving the files I want to add (I needed to move the *mp3 from my walkman folder so that they would not play when I use the shuffle button) to a this location,,Internal Storage/media/audio/notifications
