My phone just died - flickered then switched off

HI,

I have had my new Sony Xperia Z Ultra for 4 days, while just sending a text the screen flickered and then switched itself off.  I have not been able to turn it back on again.

I tried plugging it into the charger but noting happenned at all, now it is an expensive shiny paperweight.

Any advice?

Rhys

Hi, press and hold both power button and volume up button together till it vibrates and boots up.

If unsuccessful, let it charge for some time, then re-do the power and volume up process.

Open the sim card cover there is a reset button. Check manual to see where is it. It look like a small square beside the sim card. Don't use too sharp object.press it and hold will do soft reset for your device.

Mine just did the same thing - I pressed lock + vol up and phone switched off properly.  It turned on ok after that but just the screen backlight was on - nothing on display at all.  Pressed the red reset button in the sim tray a couple of times and it has now booted up ok.  No impressed in the slightest!!

l already tried to push the red button in sim tray for reboot but it doesn't workout and still cannot turn on. I already charge for 30 minutes.

Hello guys,

What I suggest is to go to the nearest Sony shop and present your warranty card. Tell them the whole story. And of course, do not forget to bring your phone, everything that came with it, proof of purchase etc... Good luck! - Raffy

You need to push and hold for a while till you feel vibration.
