Contacts syncing destroys phone database

PC companion destroys contacts phone database when syncing.

Favorites vanishes, and groups are removed.

After a sync some of the contacts cannot be edited on the phone. When pressing the "edit" icon on the phone the contacts app crashes.

This happens after the latest software update.

Hi,

I haven't access to Lotus Notes but I just made a test with Outlook. The first sync you do is an advanced sync. So you need to select "replace phone content with PC content" or vice versa. When you select to 'replace phone content with PC content' the phone will get the contact from the PC/Lotus Notes and groups and favorites created in the phone will be removed.

However, when you have done this first sync you should not use the advanced sync option when syncing. You should simply press the "syncronization" option. Then PC Companion will compare the both sides (phone and Lotus Notes)  and just add new contacts where they are missing. And no groups or favorites will be removed.

Which phone model do you have?

Towards which service/program do you sync to?

Thanks.

Are your contacts stored as local (phone) contacts or Google contacts?

When you are syncing with PC Companion, do you sync to Outlook or any other service? In that case, which version of Outlook and which Windows version do you have on your PC?

Hi,
Thank you very much for your follow up.
I use windows 7 enterprise SP1 and Lotus notes 8.5
I set up PC companion the following way:
Contacts sync > sync contacts directly with my phone via USB cable > replace phone content with PC content.
Best rgds.
