Mine also on my SBH-20. Just noticed the quality after reading this thread. I replicated mine on using the wired headset, which sounds well, but switching to my SBH-20, the quality drops down to lots of loss bit rate.

Hopefully all this problem will be fixed with the next iteration of update.

I have two BT headsets. Sony Ericsson MW600 and Sony SBH52. If i use it to listen to music i heard music and something like crackling. It occurs mainly at high frequencies. For example on this composition http://yadi.sk/d/_S-uCvheGPz9c while high-hat is playing. And music sounds as sh..t.

This problem occurs only if i use this headsets with Sony Xperia Z1. If i use this headsets with Nokia N8, C7, E51 and Iconbit Nettab space III sound is ok.

I reset to factory defaults phone and headsets but it was pointless. I tried using different music players: Walkman, n7player, PowerAmp...

I have a friend with the same problem. He told me that he tried custom firmware based on Android 4.4 and that crackling was disappear.

It's unbelievable that the Sony headsets does not work properly with the phone also manufactured by Sony.

I've got the same problem with my SBH-50. Requesting support from Sony gives nothing, but "please reset your device", "please upgrade your firmware". Hope to see the solution in 4.4

Acknowledged. I have exactly the same problem. I use two headsets : MW600 and Smart Wireless Headset Pro and both have this problem. I can say that the problem was due after upgrading to firmware 14.2.A.0.290. On firmware 14.1.G.2.257 everything works perfectly. Yesterday I installed several times 14.2.A.0.290 and 14.1.G.2.257 and accurately shows that 14.1.G.2.257 everything is OK, but on 14.2.A.0.290 like 64kbps .
Also , it can be seen in neighboring topics many reviews about the problems connecting to various Bluetooth audio devices after upgrading to firmware 14.2.A.0.290. For example in the car. Also, some Bluetooth audio steel occasionally lose connection .
Something has changed in the protocol and that clearly did not go good. I would very much like, that Sony has paid attention to this problem and fix it , because in 14.1.G.2.257 everything works perfectly.
