PMFJI. This response plus the one above makes no sense. There is no "getting used" to firmware or "getting cool" with firmware. Stamina mode should not be any drain on battery -- it is designed to save power!
Aside from a system bug, what I have found is that new OS upgrades often contain new settings. Sometimes, a careful review of the settings may expose something. In addition, looking at the Settings/Battery will show you which applications are draining the most power (normally the screen) but may lend a clue.
I have found across all OS versions from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 (yes, I am running kitkat), lowering sleep time to 30 seconds or 1 min and not using wifi and KEEPING your screen off will save battery.
But please, no more "getting used to" misinformation.
