Hi. Please help.
I got my z1 compact 2 days ago having upgraded from a samsung s3.
The problem is that intermittently my z1 will answer the phone in loud speaker, I am running everything in stock with no launchers or 3rd party phone apps.
Please help, this is really annoying
Phil
Solved! Go to Solution.
Chrome updates is causing the problem. Go into settings -> apps -> Chrome -> uninstall updates.
Will check tomorrow. After restart it worked fine.
Can someone check and confirm.

Follow this suggestion,report here.
I tried clearing the app data for the phone app and restarting as somebody else suggested; didn't work. Two phone calls out of three today answered in speaker phone.
To be honest this is **bleep** horrifc software engineering for such a basic feature of a mobile phone, to answer calls. It's not as though it's Android because it has Sony's **bleep**ty masked software overtop.
Sony wake up and get this sorted
You need to uninstall updates for chrome and see if it works. If still having issues, disable chrome.
Ive uninstalled the chrome updates, will let you know if it works
Sorry, but disabling chrome can't be the answer...! It's not a chrome bug, it's a Sony bug!
So I want to have a fix in Sonys software...
I can confirm that in fact the last update to chrome is causing the problem. The last 24 hours have been trouble free.
*So Sony PLEASE fix this.
The solution is to uninstall updates to chrome. Then go into Play store find chrome and in the menu disable auto updates for chrome. Chrome is still usable in this state there is no need to download other browsers.
*This could indeed be a chrome bug because if you check the security access that chrome has it can change audio settings so lets not throw stones at Sony untill we get all the facts. In fact reading up on other forums other makers are having similar problems after the update.
phil,keep us updated.
maragos,great news.
I'll try the chrome thing too.
However; I contacted Sony and they got back with 'reset the phone using the Sony PC software, and then try the phone using no apps and install them one by one to see if it is a bug caused from something ive installed'.
I tried this but the fault remained, they then got back and said send the phone into a Sony repair centre. The last thing i want to do is this which is just a pain in the **bleep**. It's nothing to do with the hardware it's a software issue.
