After a walk the on-button does not work. Xperia Z1 compact

Hi everybody, It sounds strange, but when i put my phone in my poket and walk around a bit, i can not switch my phone on. The screen is dark and shows no information, There are some vibrations though. The only way to get this phone going is to push the tiny off-button and then the on-button works again.
Any help? Thanks in advance

Is it always after the wak, or just after letting it idle?

Others (me included) are experiencing a sceen coming back on delay here

I'm not sure that "walking around" has anything to do with it.  I've had this problem when I've not been walking around so I don't believe this is a factor.

However, I get exactly the same symptoms and it seems to occur randomly.  Certainly I've not been able to identify any specific cause; it just happens.

However, the solution to unlocking it seems to be a Hard Reset (hold On/Off+Voulme/Up until a  the beeps stop.- could be one or more) . This will switch the phone off and then it can be switched on again as normal.  However, beware that in doing so, data, especially on the SDHC card, may be damaged beyond repair; I lost recently taken photos).

From what I read elsewhere, this appears to be a known but unacknowledged (by Sony) fault.  Guess we just have to keep pressing them to come up with a solution.  Maybe 4.4 will resolve this?

Hi grahamt,

your solution does not work with my phone. The screen does not

go on. I tried the tiny red button left of the SIM card. No reaction

of the screen (exept the beeping). I tried your version of a shutdown. No reaction.

I do not know, if this is an Android problem. I do not know anyone without

the Xperia Z1C with the same issues.

What you describe sounds very similar to what this guy found and mentioned in this review: Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review

He says firmware upgrades solved the problem for him.

Grahamt,

I am having the exact same problem with my Z1C.  I chatted with Sony Support yesterday and they just told me to do a restore through Mac bridge on my computer.  It didn't work because the phone already did the same thing this morning.  It is very mysterious...and annoying.  The hard shutdown serves as a workaround, but by no means a real solution.  Have scoured forums and reviews, and this seems to be a widespread problem, but I can't find the cause or a comprehensive fix!

Hoping they fix this soon or I'm going back to to Mac!

Hello alexdon,

the support sent me a new xperia Z1 compact.

They changed the phone and it was a hardware problem.

As i told here before, i had no response even after a hard reset.

The new phone works fine (up to now).

Cheers and thanks to all comments.
