1 day old Z1 not booting up.

1 day old Z1 not booting up.

I recieved my Z1 SIM free from Amazon today and had a play around with it for an hour. I then noticed there was a software update for it in the notifications so i let it do that and now I can't get it to boot up.

The Sony splash screen comes up, followed by the coloured streams then it freezes and goes back to the Sony logo, coloured streams, repeat etc.

I've connected it to Sony PC Companion and updated the software via that, but I'm still getting the same results.

I assume this has got to be something to do with the software update, but I'm extremely frustrated that this has been on for an hour and I've hit this brick wall which has never happened to any phone I've had before.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a fix?

Many thanks

The same case is with me too. Sony Experia Z1, a few hours old and stuck up after trying the new update. Now the phone is neither bootable nor sensable for the SUS (the update service). Really cornered. Please help.

Tried SUS, but could not find the solution. What to do next?

@Cornered Connect your phone to the wall charger (not the dock nor a computer) > press and hold power & volume up for 5 seconds > let it charge for 2 hours > after 2 hours use SUS

Thanks for your quick support.

Connected to wall charger, pressed Volume up and Power buttons for 5 seconds, but there is no indicator (showing charging). The phone was 80% charged when tried the Update. Still continue charging for 2 hours?

Yes, even if it doesn't seem to be charging let it charge, make sure that is the wall charger (USB cable/ort) and not the dock or a PC

Thanks. Following your advice of charging with wall charger (no dock or USB in between). Will have to wait for 2 hours. Let's see. I am curious to know what happens.

I have the same problem, Absolute death; I've been reading the forums for hours now and still no technique that helps.

I tried charging to the wall for some hours and then connecting to the PC, but no luck.

Both softwares ask you to plug the cellphone while it's off and while pressing the down volume buttom.

I do manage to get a blue light when I'm pressing one of the buttons (at this point I already forgot which is which; so I try with both always), but nothing else happens and the phone never gets detected by either of programs.

I do not know how to turn off the phone; maybe I'm always plugin it when it's on.

Any ideas :)?

After 2 hours of invisible charging, tried SUS. But no luck. Nothing happened. What next?
