So I've had my xz premium a couple weeks now. And it is getting increasingly frustrating to use this phone.
First I find that small apps has been removed. That was so useful for screenshotting nice and quick. I understand that is Googles error apparently.
Then the touch screen sometimes just doesn't respond until 3/4 touches of the screen.
The device loves to get quote hot, something that my last 4 Sony phones have done too.
But now, it keeps changing its volume. I'll put it on do not disturb, and within a few minutes it has gone back to loud. I'll have it on vibrate, then within a few minutes it's back on loud.
I don't have any profiles set up, it just has a mind of its own.
Bitterly regret getting this phone now.
I know how to do a screenshot, I was saying it's a shame small apps have gone.
As for the notification, it's a fault, nothing to do with me.
The do not disturb symbol will show in top left, then it'll disappear and it's back on loud again. I can watch it disappear as it goes back to loud again within 2-3 minutes of it being on do not disturb.
It's nothing to do with the volume buttons as that causes you to see the volume scale adjusting, this just literally turns to loud all the time. I can't even keep it on just vibrate because it is back on loud within a few minutes.
@Boobel just to rule out a 3rd party app altering this setting can you run the phone in Safe Mode for a while & see if the problem occurs

my bad, for some reason I thought you meant that sound profiles were changing when you put your phone in your pocket. I also only mentioned screenshot shortcut because you mentioned Small Apps being useful for screenshotting. by the way, Small Apps have mostly been replaced by Android Nougat's split screen feature, I think that's why Sony decided to discontinue them.
I've just tried this. It's quite strange having no apps 😂
It's still doing it, it's so weird.
It goes from do not disturb to loud. Vi rate to loud.
I suppose a factory reset is next?
If there is no thrid party app that you can identify as causing your issues, then yes a factory reset is in order. Sorry.
I have the same issue since a few days. I tried the safe mode and it didn't happen.
So i restarted my phone and after 10 minutes it changed again. Now the big question: How can i itendify the app wich turns back on volume?!
I didn't install a new app since about 2 weeks. The error occurs maybe since 4-5 days. And in those days about 20 apps habe been updated....uninstall one after another and watch?!
Thank you.
I still have the same problem!
Also a factory reset didn't help. What can i do?? I tried 2 times now. I only restored my conatcs and wifi information on second attempt.
But after installing most of my apps on my own it turns up the volume again.
Please help......
Thank you.
It happens after you restore your apps, so it's one of them acting up. The only way (which is quite tedious) is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but without adding apps or settings to the backup.
After that, restore your apps one by one, testing if the issue happens in between. Once you observe the issue again, confirm by uninstalling that app and re-test.
Kindly post the name of the app here in case you managed to figure it out.
