Just got my new XZP and wanted to watch some 4k video via Amazon Prime. The app comes pre-installed and cannot be removed, but opening it sends me to Google play which says it's not available in my country (I'm in the 🇺🇸). I downloaded Amazon underground, but when attempting to get the app from there it just says open since it's already installed. Attempting to access a video on the website opens the app which sends me straight back to Google Play and the not available in your country message. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix It?
I'm sorry to hear about the issue, but you will have to contact the app developer regarding this, as it's up to them not Sony to address this problem
Because Sony has pre-installed the app and prevented me from removing it from my device, it is very much the responsibility of Sony to fix.
you must disable the app first in settings and clear its data. then download amazon underground and install it from there. it takes a while but it works eventually.
That's the problem. Amazon Underground can see the app is installed so won't let me download it. And when it tries to open it, if prime video is enabled, it sends me back to Google play, and if it's disabled, it just does nothing. Sony support has been terrible. Given the other issues I'm having with the phone and the premium price I paid, I'm just going to return it sadly. Thanks for trying to help though.
