I am using a new pattern lock for screen lock.
After I restart the phone, I can only pass the pattern lock with an old pattern.
Any action changeing the screen lock like change pattern or change unlock method or even disable screen lock won't affect the startup pattern lock.
I can only startup my phone with that old pattern. I want to change the old pattern to a new one.

That's rather odd, what if you remove the pattern lock > restart the device > add a new pattern lock?

It still asks me to enter the old pattern with words saying "draw your pattern to boot/start Android".

Doing so only change the screen lock behavier.
I'm still reading some post about it.
The problem might be something to do with "phone encryption" and the old pattern is the password to it.

I guess the problem is caused by Android full disk encryption and somehow it need root access to change the encryption password.
I think i'll just accept the old password untill someday i want to hard reset my phone.
I am really not sure how i get to this.

@ @uliwool
After i reset my phone to factory default, the lock problem has been solved.
Now the setting you mentioned above affect the the correct password to start Android after reboot.
I can even cancel password requirement at startup with those steps now. Thank you!
