How can I upgrade my XL-302 to HDMI 1.3 ?

You would need to replace the graphics card to one that is HDMI 1.3. I'm pretty sure you'll have a hard time finding a full size card with 1.3 right now never mind a low profile one that will fit in the 301 / 302.

What are after from 1.3? Deep colour? HD Audio to a receiver?

I do not have sound when I connect HDMI to my Pioneer PDP-LX6090 and when I connect to my Yamaha RX-V3800 AV Receiver the XL-302 crashes as it starts up.
Both units are HDMI 1.3

Hi polo11,

there is a HDMI Software update (Version 071025) available for the XL series,that should resolve the audio through Vaio and HDMI 1.3 equipped display..

Unfortunately the firmware is not available for direct download but if you contact Sony Vaio support they should be able to supply it to you..
