WIN DVD BD not working

Hello,

Can anyone help?

I have a VGN-AR21S running Vista. Since I upgraded to Vista I can't get WIN DVD to work. CDs play OK but nothing in Blu Ray works.

Also I tried downloading the latest version of WIN DVD BD from the VAIO update site but it fails and says it needs to be installed manually. How do I do this?

Hi Meld,

What version of WinDVD is currently installed on your Vaio as you will need to install the updates in order..

Intervideo WinDVD BD8.0.8.100

InterVideo WinDVD BD8.0.8.416_2

InterVideo WinDVD BD8.0.8.425_3

WinDVD BD8.0 - 8.0.9.429_2

To install the update browse to the folder that you downloaded the WinDVD update file, the default location is usually Computer > Local Disk (C) > Update file..

The file you are looking for should be called something beginning with ITAOTH, once found then double click to install the file..

Hello,

How do I find out the version. There does not appear to be an "About" Tab?

To check the version number, launch Intervideo WinDVD BD for Vaio, then right click on the WinDVD BD for Vaio application window, from the list select Set-Up.

In the new Set-Up window select the Information Tab.

Hello again Thal,

There is an "i" button on WIN DVD but it seems to be greyed out for some reason...

Can't find an update file anywhere I think it stopped downloading midstream...

OK Got it.

Its 8.0 DXVA B08.100

Apparently. Is there a way of getting the upgrades in the right order?

(appreciate your help btw!)

InterVideo WinDVD BD8.0.8.416_2 download HERE

Then locate the ITAOTH-01596000-UN.exe file and follow the installation instructions..

Once version 8.0.8.416 (ITAOTH-01596000-UN.exe) has been installed download InterVideo WinDVD BD8.0.8.425_3 from HERE

As above locate the ITAOTH-01596002-UN.exe file and follow the installation instructions as before..

Finally once version version 8.0.8.425 (ITAOTH-01596002-UN.exe) has been installed download WinDVD BD8.0 - 8.0.9.429_2 from HERE

And install as with previous updates..

To be on the safe side it may be worth restarting your Vaio after each installation..

Cripes ...you have been busy.

I found the update folder and there were lots of things there that have probably been hanging around for years. I have installed them all. Only one of them was to do with WIN DVD and it made no change to the issue state.

Anyway thanks, I will work through your hyperlinks and see where I end up! Then let you know...
