Folks,
I have just installed Vista Ultimate on my VGC-V3S, it was previously running XP with no issues, ever since the clean install of vista , the machine cant see the video card in device manager, all that will display is the standard VGA graphics adapter, there is absolutely no trace of the nvidia card on the machine, no yellow flags in device manager, it's like the bios can't see it, I had a look at the bios and there's no mention of it, I was wondering if there is a bios update for this machine that will sort the issue?, I went onto vaio support and got the latest drivers for vista , but there was no mention of a bios only Sony Utils DLL 7.0.00.11210 , i installed that and still no joy......
any ideas????
Have you tried installing a Vista Driver for your nVidia GeForce FX Go5700?
Try this one: -

If it won't install, follow the Quickstart guide at the top of the webpage to replace the .INF file with one that will allow installation.
Hi
I have got the same machine as yourself and just installed an uopgrade from Xp to Vista Premium and had the same problem. To resolve this I just located the driver on the hard disk and reinstalled, problem solved.
The machine seems to be working OK apart from the TV card not working. Vista cannot see the card, I have also installed the Vista updates as you have but remote and TV don't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Eddie,
Have you installed the Vista version of Vaio Zone? This is the only way you can use the TV card because it will not work with XP or Vista Media Centre.
To get Vaio Zone to work and display TV, you must turn off the Aero Effects in Vista first.
