My TZ laptop's CD/DVD drive will not recover from Power Saving mode, it works perfectly well in all other cases, it doesn't make any specific noise (see noise threads).
The TZ has been downgraded to XP using printed and online instruction, Recovery CD, then Recovery folder on CD, and drivers downloaded from Vaiolink.
