Hi everyone, I have 2 computers, a desktop computer with windows xp and a notebook (vaio vgn-nr11z/s) with vista home premium. My internet connection goes to 2mb, on the first pc goes to full bandwidth, on the notebook remains miserably to 30KBps ...
The problem is not the firewall, since even disable it not solve anything.
The bandwidth is not occupied by various programs or windows update ...
How can I do to "unlock" the connection on the notebook without trying to format?
Sorry for my bad english
Have you installed BIOS Update Version R0131J9. This update provides compatibility with the updated Wireless Lan Driver Atheros 7.4B - 7.4.2.15
You can download the BIOS Update from HERE
Strangely, having released the BIOS Update, Sony have not released the Update for the Wireless Lan Driver Atheros 7.4B but you can download it from the download page for the VGN-N38E/W here: -

Good Luck

The BIOS is already upgraded to the latest version. I have also tried to install the update for the network card, but the system says it has already updated...
where could be the problem?
Any ideas?
Have you tried it connected by Ethernet cable to establish if it is a wireless problem or a network problem.
Your router's firmware and drivers have been updated for Vista compatibility?

Even with the ethernet cable is the same thing
Should I take it back to the shop where I bought it? It's still under warranty
