My VGC LA1 all in one's speakers have stopped working

The speakers on my desktop Vaio have stopped playing sounds, we can however hear perfectly well when the earphones are plugged into socket. Have tried all diagnostics and support, sound card must be ok as we are hearing sound and system says this and drivers are working properly.
Any ideas? Any help appreciated.

try booting your vaio into safe mode, do you get sound.?

To boot into safe mode start your vaio and when you see the Vaio logo press the F8 key repeatedly..
