Mind of its own?!

I have a VGN-AR71ZU which came preinstalled with Vista ultimate which seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to waking up! When i shut the lid or push the power button it either goes to sleep or hibernates but for some reason sometimes it decides to wake up for no apparent reason. This has become a real problem as it sometimes wakes up when its in my laptop back which means it gets very hot which could end up damaging it. Any ideas anyone?

what you can do is right-click the power icon on the task tray click power options then select a power plan then then go to blue text saying change plan settings then continue to (change advanced power settings)blue text again . Then you get a new window power options you have a list of options go to (power buttons and lid) about seventh one down the list then you get 4 more options choose what you would like to happen when you close you PC lid / choose what happens when you touch the sleep buttons an so on . hope this helps
