microphone

Hello,

I use vista ultimate and vaio ar 51su.
I was wondering where the internal microphone is located on my laptop?
When I talk on skype, people say that my voice is going them from a distant place.
I thought that maybe I should speak more closely to the microphone on the laptop but I dont know where it is.

But besides, how can I increase the volume of my microphone so that my voice reaches to the other side my closely?
How can I test my voice level on vista?

Thanks in advance.

The microphone is on the front right of your Vaio, just above the words Magic Gate.. See no 15 in the attached image below..

how can I increase the volume of my microphone so that my voice reaches to the other side my closely?

You can check the Vista audio settings..

Click Start then Control Panel..

In control panel click Hardware and Sound followed by Manage audio devices.

Then click on the recordings tab followed by Microphone..

In the microphone properties window click on the levels tab to adjust..

Have you checked the settings in skype.?

to do this start Skype, then click Tools followed by Options.

In the options window select Audio settings, and place a tick in Let Skype adjust my audio settings..

Then make a Skype test call to check the sound level..
