Hello after a long time away from the forum.
My blue "Fn" key which is meant to be used in conjunction with quick volume+, volume-, mute, brightness+, brightness- etc keys has stopped working. It may have something to do with the fact that in an attempt to free-up some space on my rather full C: drive I have been deleting some "unnecessary" files. I double clicked on the "tools" folder and this initiated "copying files...." and then "initiating drivers....". Oops. Can anyone suggest anything......helpful?
Worriedly yours.
Hi. Welcome back!
This usually means you have removed some of the Sony Utilities that control the Fn key.
Just remind us of your Vaio model type and operating system.
Should have mentioned that I have a VAIO VGN S2XP running Windows XP with service pack 3.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Download the Original Utilities for the S2 from here: -
http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/preinstalled/preinstalled.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&c=0&s=VGN...
Right-click on the downloaded .zip file and "Extract All". Extract to C:\
Browse to C:\S2_Utilities\Utils\ and run the 20MB .EXE file to reinstall the necessary utilities.
Good Luck
Blencogo,
thanks a lot. Works a treat. It's easy......when you know how. Thanks again.
PS I might be posting another unrelated query shortly!
