I'm trying to connect my new all-in-one vaio VGC-LV1S to an existing Sony home cinema system DAV-SC5, which is a DVD player linked to surround sound speakers with options for other inputs. We've bought an optical cable from a Sony shop which we were told can link the two but it hasn't worked. We changed the sound settings on the computer to Digital Output (Optical) as instructed by the online user manual, but this hasn't worked. Also tried connecting a generic AV cable as well but no luck.
Any help on this would be much appreciated, I'm sure it can be done but it's very frustrating trying!
