I was considering upgrading my CPU in this machine and was wondering if I would be able to cope with the TDP requirements of an Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900, currently the t7500 has a tdp of 35w and the x7900 requires 44w. So if i did buy one of these would it be safe to run with the cooling system or should i just buy a t7800?
I would quite like the x7900 but do not want to wreck my machine. As far as everything else is concerned i am sure it would work, Micro-FCPGA, 65nm, 800 MHz, P478 ...
Any help/experience on this or perhaps the x7800 would be a massive plus for me. Cheers
