Ethernet Network Adapter not working

Hi,
Just got back my VGN-BZ11XN who had to be serviced due to a faulty keyboard and now I am having trouble with the Ethernet Network Adapter...When UTP cable plugged in nothing happens,I checked the drivers,BIOS settings and everything seems to be in place and working properly .
Before I sent the laptop to be fixed this one was working and had no problems with it.
Please let me know your idea as I am getting really dissapointed about Sony`s products.

Is the Local Area Network enabled.?

You can check this in Control Panel then click Network and Internet and then Network Connections..
