I wonder if anyone can help me. I have an LT-1M with Vista Home Premium and Windows Media Centre. I have recorded a few TV programs which I wish to burn onto DVD to watch elsewhere. Each time I try to burn a DVD after abut three minutes or so, the disc is ejected and a message appears saying an error occured while burning a DVD. Any pointers would be most appreciated. It is driving me nuts. - Thanks
Hi michelmoy,
Are you trying to burn the data in the native format - dvr-ms or converted to DVD format.
If the former I suggest that you try different brands of media – Verbatim, Sony ….
Rich, thanks for your response. All I am doing is just following the instructions on windows Media Centre I assume that it is converting it into a DVD format that can be used in any DVD player. It does ask me the whether I want to make a data disc or a dvd. I am using Asda DVD RW. This has been a problem from the start. I have tried Verbatim discs before and I still get the same error. Thanks for your help - Michel
Hi Michel,
I can assure you that you are not alone with this problem. I have yet to successfully burn a DVD from dvr-ms format using Media Centre. I have researched the problem and tried various conversion utilities, but have found no real solution.
You should be able to burn a data disk (in native format) but this, of course, has its limitations for portability.
I assume that it has something to do with DRM
hi both I am also trying to burn a dvd from the media player, each time i try it says "Please insert writeable media that is compatible with your CD or DVD recorder, and then select Retry" I have tried + and - dvd's R and RW, different brands etc any ideas on what to do next???? It is really driving me mad - prob a simple solution but got me at the moment.
thanks

I have contacted Sony Vaio e-support but they have not been able to help to date. dont know what to do. do you think that this could be a hardware problem? Michel
