I can never seem to get my laptop to connect to wireless internet. So far I have managed to get the computer to reach the local connection stage, but I am failing to get it to reach the internet. I know this post is very superficial, but I hoped that someone would reply and tell me what more details are they wish me to post.
Many Thanks
Will
You need to give out some more information. Can you see the router? Probably something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1?
Where would I see that?
Look at the underside of your router...it should say something like 192.168.1.1 or similar...also it might mention the Username and Password...usually "admin" "admin" or "admin" "password"
Then connect your laptop via cable to your router...open any browser and in the address bar (where you normally type in http://www.bbc.co.uk for eaxmple) type in the IP of the router...so just type "192.168.0.1" (without the quote marks!)...
What is the make and model of your modem/router?

This may sound daft but have you got your wireless switch on?
The other suggestion is to read the user guide that came with your router. It should give some troubleshooting tips.
Thanks guys, but it turns out my DNS settings were wrong! Pretty stupid, eh?
