Blank screen on AR51 J

Please help
i have sony AR51 J was working fine until yesterday when i reboot the computer its seem to loading fine i can see the screen loading but its no staring up its stuck on blank screen any one please help
can i reinstall vista if so then how as its not going on startup when i press f2 its let me on config menu
please please help

Hi loverboy4alluk and welcome to Club Vaio.

It sounds like your Video driver or graphics chip are faulty. It is not your screen because you can see the Vaio boot screen in the default VGA resolution.

You need to boot the Vaio into 'Safe Mode': -

1. Switch on your VAIO.
2. When you see the Sony logo, begin to press F8 several times.
3. The boot menu will appear, select Safe Mode using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

The screen will look odd and it may be difficult to navigate because you cannot see the whole screen but ignore this. You need to reinstall your Graphics Driver.

Go to Device Manager and expand 'Display Adapters'. Right-click on your nVidia GeForce 8400M GT GPU and choose "Uninstall". Reboot your Vaio.

If this does not work, you may have to reinstall a new copy of the driver by navigating to c:\drivers\Graphics Driver (NVIDIA)\Setup.exe and double-clicking on the setup.exe file to install a fresh driver.

As a last resort you can reinstall Vista by booting from the System Recovery Disc or by tapping F10 during boot-up. You will lose all programs and data added since you bought the Vaio.
