AR71ZU screen flickers when playing video

I have just bought an AR71ZU but the screen flickers when playing video, either from DVD or from file. It mostly happens during high motion scenes. The same flicker appears on HDTV when I connect via HDMI. The main reason I bought this was to use it as a media centre. Does anybody know a fix? I have opened a case with Sony but assume I will not hear anything until after the weekend.

It was a software problem. I had to restore to factory settings. It works great now.
