Unfortunatley, if you want to play video files that your TV does not recognise, you need to either convert them to a format your TV can play (i.e. Software called Total Video Converter and many others).
Alternatively, you can download Sony's Homestream software, which is based on the Serviio platform. This will enable you to play them directly off your PC or laptop (assuming that your TV is connected to your network).
