USB HDD - how to shut down before unplugging?
Am I missing a menu option to power down an external USB hdd before (safely) unplugging it (with the tv on). Or do Sony tv's make it safe automatically?
I don't fancy the prospect of a corrupt hard drive.

Here’s a solution I found on the web:-
How do you eject a hard drive from a Sony TV?
To keep your content safe, eject your drive before you unplug it from your Android TV.
- On your Android TV, go to the Home screen.
- Scroll down and select Settings .
- Under "Device," select Storage and reset .
- Select your USB drive. Eject.
Will this work for you?
If not, search the web, as I did, knowing that the word you are looking for is ‘eject’.
My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…
