I have just bought a new X10 mini pro and want to transfer ALL the contact and calendar info from my olld Sony Ericcson W595 not just th info on the SIM card - have tried syncing - only takes numbers from SIM card
Old network 3 new network Tesco mobile.
I have copied all my contact and calendar details from the old phone onto Sony Ericcson PC companion but when I try and copy the data to the new phone I don't seem to have the same options. My number will tansfer on 04.01.11 and am now concerned that I may lose this info - HELP!

About the new software update, frankly, SE did not provide any info and therefore no answer. Refer to the link.
So what you are saying is that basically TOUGH!!!! I am afraid that is not good enough
SE have automatically sent me a software update so IT IS a SE problem!!!
There is nothing my contactor can do and now I have this phone I am stuck with it!!!
So since you have answered my message can you help???? Is that a no????

It's totally up to you, the decision is yours whether you want to update your phone.
I have a X10, I updated it to Android 2.1. Another X10 mini, still remains as Android 1.6 which I have no intention of upgrading it (won't be bothered even if SE send me 101 notifications to update my X10 mini).
I can offer you my help, provided that I have the answer.
If it is a choice thing with software updates then why would they be available?Dont make sense to me
If my phone needs an update then that should be the time that I am sent these updates????Apart from that then I shouldnt receive these updates notifications.

At the moment my phone is not as responsive to touch as what it was a couple of weeks ago. Is this related to the software update that is waiting to be actioned? When I tap to go into txt message it has a good 8 second delay and then it responds to what I am trying to do.Because of this delay keep ending up ina at a different section from where I wanted to be! This is not what a SMARTPHONE is meant to do.

Some suggestions for you.
Remove battery, install it back after awhile, restart phone. Let it 'settle' all the necessary startup procedure before using it.
Update phone to latest software release, hopefully this will resolve the 'laggy issue'?! Actually, this update will not 'mess up' your phone memory, no Backup and Restore required.

Hello there. The reason I have not answered your queries is that I volunteer on this forum - I do not work for Sony Ericsson. I am doing this on my own time and as you know it is a bank holiday in the UK and therefore family time. The forum is not an instant answers thing, you post and hopefully someone can help. There are a couple of Sony Ericsson employees that answer queries here but it is not a full technical support arena.
I do not know what the latest software update contains. I have a UK Tmobile X10 which has not received the latest update yet and an X8 on loan from SE which is on a generic world software but again has not had the update.
Yeah it is X10 mini I have.
I am really wary of doing the software update as it mashed up my contents the last time I tried.
I dont have any faith in the back up and restore either becase when I had done it before it would not restore my info!!! This happened when I updated to 2.1 android and this seemed to mash up my phone and Orange sent me another handset (I am on 3rd handset already)
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the reply.
I have phoned SE before and didnt get anywhere with this problem they dont seem to be willing to accept that some things are not working properly with the X10 mini.
I have defo had more help on here that actually phoning SE.
In your experience do you think the reason that my phone is not responding properly is due to the fact that I have not done the software update?
Sorry I thought you actually worked for SE.
I honestly don't know the answer. You could try the update and if it doesn't work on your unit you could go back to Orange and get the handset swapped again. If you are really unhappy with it will they exchange it with a different make and model?
I can understand your frustration but I don't know what else I can offer.
