Hi
I recently purchased a Xperia M Dual Sim model. Unfortunately I did not know that it was a micro SIM. Now I already have a Nokia Lumia 520 with Micro SIM. The one in Lumia was cut locally by mobile salesaman. The dimensions of the micro SIM was not exactly as per specifications with it looking more like a Nano SIM with all the plastic edges trimmed out. Now this one works fine in LUMIA but as I insert them in Xperia M , it gives error NO SIM.I have carefully seen that the 6 connector points in SIM matches with the 6 quadrants in the SIM but no avail and tried multiple times in both the SIM slots of this dual SIM model. When I look carefully I see that the SIM slots in xperia may have a switch mechanism in the bottom of their SIM slot which detects SIMs which are not cut properly or are not of the perfect dimensions. Is it true for any of the guys over here. Pls help cos otherwise Id have to thing that there is a defect in the SIM SloT which is doubt as none of the SIM slots seem to recognize the all trimmed SIM card.I have checked in both the slots and they are the same.
Thanks
Saboo

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm not sure if there's a switch in the SIM-slot but i recommend that you contact your operator to get a real micro SIM. Using a cut SIM is not recommended.
Arjit,I understand it is important to you,but you need to drop this disrespectful attitude, these people are here to help.He cannot know every little thing on every phone.
Listen to me,they are well prepaired.I am only a mod, just taking care of the forum, but sony support members are quite professionals.
Understood, you will be given what you want.
Sorry to hear that you feel my answer was unhelpful.
What i was trying to point out in my answer was that using a cut SIM-card is not recommended. One should contact the operator to get a real micro SIM. Using a cut SIM card may damage the SIM card reader and/or not work properly. Reading the first post it seems that the SIM was not even cut properly by the dealer so i think it's a bad idea trying to make it work in the phone. That's why i didn't try finding a solution for using this SIM in the phone.
