This could be a firewall in your computer blocking the connection. If you have a firewall, set to to allow XBMC or try turning it off and see if that helps. Also check the settings in your router and make sure UPnP is enabled. Some routers may have this off by default.
In order to use Throw to a computer you need to have a software in your computer that acts as a DLNA-renderer. You can for example use XBMC for this as explained here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/DLNA/m-p/351822
I'm afraid it's not possible to use Throw to a W8. You could however enable the media server in the Xperia M under Settings -> and then download a DLNA browser to your W8 from Market.
I Installed XBMC. But unfortunately I'm not able to use the throw function.
I have Allowed control of XBMC via UPnP i.e under System > Settings > Services > UPnP.
But when I clicked on throw in my XM it says no devices found. I searched again and stll no device.
How to add my device?
My PC and XM are connected in the same BSNL wifi router wheras PC is wired and XM by WiFi.
Its a problem with my router it seems. I cant locate that to enable UPnP and I cant get an answer for enabling from the local tech because they didn't even have a clue what I asked.
Sorry to hear that DLNA and Throw uses UPnP so the router needs to support this and have it enabled.
I have xperia m
After updating to 4.3 jellybean I am not able to use the throw feature for my pc with the same wifi.
It does not detect my pc in throw setting

Did it work before you updated the phone?
