Throw and screen mirroring

Hi

I have xperia M single sim running 4.1 JB.

I tried to throw a picture to my Sony W8 and unable to do that.
Then I tried to play that picture and a video from album to my PC.
That PC is connected with the same router which I use to connect my W8 and Xperia M through WiFi for accessing internet.

Please guide me how to view my photos from xperia M in PC as well as W8 through throw or screen mirroring.

Thanks.

This could be a firewall in your computer blocking the connection. If you have a firewall, set to to allow XBMC or try turning it off and see if that helps. Also check the settings in your router and make sure UPnP is enabled. Some routers may have this off by default.

In order to use Throw to a computer you need to have a software in your computer that acts as a DLNA-renderer. You can for example use XBMC for this as explained here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/DLNA/m-p/351822

I'm afraid it's not possible to use Throw to a W8. You could however enable the media server in the Xperia M under Settings -> and then download a DLNA browser to your W8 from Market.

I Installed XBMC. But unfortunately I'm not able to use the throw function.

I have Allowed control of XBMC via UPnP i.e under System > Settings > Services > UPnP.

But when I clicked on throw in my XM it says no devices found. I searched again and stll no device.

How to add my device?

My PC and XM are connected in the same BSNL wifi router wheras PC is wired and XM by WiFi.

Its a problem with my router it seems. I cant locate that to enable UPnP and I cant get an answer for enabling from the local tech because they didn't even have a clue what I asked.

Sorry to hear that Slightly_frowning_Face DLNA and Throw uses UPnP so the router needs to support this and have it enabled.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Did it work before you updated the phone?
Is it XBMC you're using in your computer or another software?
