How long should i charge for the first time my Xperia M

Hi,

 I brought a new mobile yesterday Xperia M (Dual).

 Battery drained off completely. 

 I charged my phone in truned off status for 2 hours..  When i try to switch on my mobile . It doesn't turn on.

How long should i charge to turn on my phone?

How do i get to know whether my phone is charging or not (when turned off).

How do i get to know whether my phone is completely charged .

Please Guide to solve my issue.

Charge it over night. Sometimes that might not be possible when you have to go out and bring the phone asl well, in that case  just leave it on the charger the next time u go to sleep.

Notification light will come on when you plug the phone in to be charged. If you press the power button briefly, you should also see a picture of a battery on the screen. After two hours though, it really should have enough charge to at least turn on.

When i long press the power butoon.. i can see red flast light (Only till i hold the power button).

And there is no battery image displaying on the screen. 

Phone doesn turn on all.

The charging light is orange, so if you don't see that, it's not charging. I would talk to the people you bought it from and look at getting a replacement.

@MarySowmya That usually hapens when your phone had 0% battery left.  Just leave it on the charger. You can try to switch it on again later.
