EMail not deleted

I'm on BT Mail and when I deleted mail using my desk top it doesn't get deleted from my phone. I'm sure there's something I need to do / set up but haven't a clue what it is  Can someone help please ?

Bt Mail doesn't have sync so it will stay on your phone - Gmail has sync but BT and Virgin do not as I've tried them both

Thanks for that. So in 2 years time when I've got hundred of mails on my phone what happens ? Anything ? Might have to move to GMail:smileycry:
